I actually played with this and have my own tip. When you go to use the pencil, the tip is very sensitive. If it breaks, you can sharpen it like your typical lip pencil. It is made out of plastic but shreds the same way. my mishap below and the tiny bit left after using my finger to apply it etc.

I really wanted this color and love this phrase! The person I traded with ironically lived in WA state and had a daughter that really wanted mine. So, less than a week after receiving our boxes, and before many have received theirs sadly, I'm a happy camper :)
